Attention Chocolate Lovers

My friend Kristin and I are eating dessert at this amazing chocolate restaurant called Max Brenner. You have never seen so many chocolate choices in your life. They even have pipes that supposedly carry chocolate throughout the restaurant!

Bits

Ready for my schedule for next week?

Monday morning fly to San Francisco
Tuesday morning fly to New York City

Thursday afternoon fly to Denver

That's twice across the country in four days. And oh yeah, I might be going to Cambridge, MA on Wednesday.

NYC is still beautiful and it's not hot. Last night a friend from work and I strolled up to the 5th Avenue Apple Store to buy me an extra battery. It lasts fine on the Denver to LaGuardia flights but I need to work on the San Francisco to JFK flight so there you go. It was just a perfect night, cool but not cool enough for a jacket.
Skip and I are planning a vacation in Hawaii for this fall. I have so many Hilton and United points that the airfare and room(s) will be free! I've never been more than 100 feet off the continent so it should be very exciting. And more importantly, Denver flys there direct so no layovers! With all the flying I do, I really can't believe how long it's been since I had to change planes (years).
So far this year I've flown 37,000 miles.
Poor Jenna Fischer from The Office (Pam) broke her back a few weeks ago right here in NYC. She's recuperating very close to my hotel and takes walks every day in Central Park. I can see the park from my window right now. I want to give her a hug but I think that would hurt!

No way I'm moving to Poland now

Just ridiculous. The Polish government has launched a full scale investigation to decide if Tinky Winky is gay and corrupting the youth. Well what does that involve? Sitting down with the remote and analyzing every Teletubbies episode frame-by-frame? I would think even with heavy medication you'd be crazy as a loon by the time that exercise is done.

That's enough of that

So my 18-month old XBOX 360 died and Microsoft wants $140 to fix it. Never mind that they have publicly admitted that the models made around that time were defective. So I took a look at my game collection and decided there were only two games I really wanted to keep:

Viva Pinata! - Skip and I love this one. It's like the Sims for your garden with cute animals.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted - One of my favorite games on any system. I'm not very good at the races but I LOVE having the cops chase me and seeing how long I can evade them (I think my record is almost 30 minutes).

So... I am taking my 360 games to EBGames for credit, I'm going to Circuit City and buying Need For Speed: Most Wanted for $5 on sale, buying the adapter so I can use the Microsoft controller with my PC and that's that.

Now if my Wii broke that would be a whole different story.

Rosie

So she's gone. Part of me wishes she would stay just to send the message that friends can fight and it's not the end of the world. But she obviously feels that this is the best thing for her so good for her. I will just wait patiently until her next endeavor.

One of my favorite blogs, Modern Fabulousity, summed up my feelings well...

She's left The View for good. And although I'll miss her, I don't blame her...who wants to sit around with a shrill, evil little Republican shrew every day? Being pro-Bush and for the Iraq War in this day and age, when we all know how badly it has gone FUBAR, means you are either massively stupid, massively evil, or massively out of touch with reality...or all three. As Janine Garofalo says, being Republican is not a political position, it is a character flaw. Hasselbeck should hang her head in shame.

Snow

Just a random pic from the lab I'm working in so I can tell you that it is snowing at my house. It waited until right after Sarah left.

Another test

Two weeks ago I took my Sametime exam for Notes 7, today I'm taking my System Admnistration Update exam.

Then it's on to the Application Development update exams!

Exciting news, I know.

A fond farewell to Jerry

Who knew Bill Maher gave such great eulogies?

I actually have a view of Central Park this week!

Cambridge

It's Thursday, I'm going home today and Sarah will be there! I just want a week at home but it looks like that is at least 6 weeks away. As part of my current work project I will probably be in Cambridge, MA for a few weeks starting in June. Farther north for cooler temps in late spring? I'm there!
The air quality is just nasty here in NYC. You can just feel the smog as soon as you walk outside. If I had a baby I certainly couldn't live here just for that reason.

You should be ashamed!

You, of course, being the people who put together the Tony nominations. Shame!

No nomination for Kristin Chenoweth in The Apple Tree? No nomination for John Mahoney in Prelude to a Kiss?
In other news...
The TV Upfronts (unveiling of the fall TV schedule) are happening right across the street from my office this week. The whole cast of The Office was there on Monday and some of the cast of Grey's Anatomy was there yesterday. So close and yet so far! Speaking of Grey's Anatomy, did you see last week's episode where they wove the new series in? It didn't do too much for me.
Jerry Falwell is dead. I hope he is receiving as much tolerence in his current life has he doled out in this one.
Sarah comes to visit today! Of course I won't see her until tomorrow...
I am worn out! Gone are the long walks around the city. In are the quick walks back to the hotel to hibernate after work.

I missed one...

Skippy and I had a great dinner at an Italian restaurant in the East Village last night. When we got back to the hotel, I went back up to the room and Skippy walked to get a piece of cheesecake. Then he almost knocked into Carson Kressley! Carson was on his phone and not paying attention. Skippy's fragile, so good thing he was alert.

Skippy eating octopus

He needed protein to get ready to see Spamalot tonight!

54th and 6th Avenue

Skippy and I saw Spider Man 3 this afternoon across the street from the Hotel. The same theatre that had the Georgia Rules premiere. When the first action sequence started, police were called to 54th and 6th Avenue. Right where I am! On one side of 54th and 6th is the Hotel, the movie theatre is on the other side. So my Hilton is in the movie and everything.

Oh yeah, the movie was pretty good too.

So sad

Poor Tammy Faye. Things aren't looking good...

The Premiere, part 2

Here is a picture of the leads from Georgia Rule at the premiere I saw the other night. It took place in a much smaller space than I had imagined. I had the impression that reporters just fought for space along the rails and shouted out questions, but they actually all have assigned area. Each news outlet had a white sign on the carpet so the stars could easily see with whom they were going to chat. Every time a star showed up there were a lot of screams but it was a bit deafening when Lindsey Lohan showed up (why, why, why?). She spent a good 30 minutes on the red carpet. She would stand and pose for photos, move about two feet to the left and do it again. Then she did her interviews with about 1/3 of the news reporters. Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood had their own separate raised areas at the beginning of the carpet and the rest of the schlubs just had spaces along the railing.

My mom just wanted to know how Jane Fonda looked. "Is she still beautiful?" And she IS.

More snow

Well the hail yesterday turned into a real hard snow. We ended up getting 5 or 6 inches. It's melting fast even as we speak.

Roll over!

Here is a video of Blossom rolling over. We're working on "spin around" at the moment.

Saturday, May 5, 2007

Hail!

Wow. I'm sitting here playing Lord of the Rings Online and it is hailing like crazy outside!

Yays and Boos

Yay it's snowing out.

Boo I got my teeth cleaned today.

That is all.

Danger, Danger!

Shanaynay the mountain lion has been stalking our house. She's been taking different positions every night, each with a great view of our backyard. Now we have to take the dogs out one at a time at night and they have to be on a leash and we have to have the power flashlight going so we can see Shanaynay's every move. Creepy!

Things...

Did you know I'm here in NYC until at least the beginning of May? The project I'm working on is going really well. I'm almost becoming used to "living" in NYC. I've been taking walks in different directions to see different things. Last night I walked over to Third Avenue and saw some things I didn't know NYC had (The Home Depot and even an Outback!). For lunch, we all signed up for gomobo.com which not only lets you order your exact lunch online from a lot of places right around our office but gives you 25% off every order for a month! Mmmmm Yummy Sushi.

I am still fascinated by seeing where famous people are near me though. A few days ago Michael Buble was performing on The Today Show while i was eating breakfast a few blocks away. Bjork played a concert across the street from my office last night. And on Tuesday night I walked right by Kathryn Erbe of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. She's my favorite female detective of that genre.

Tomorrow I get to sit in the dentist chair for a four hour cleaning. Then I'm getting my teeth whitened soon after that. Anyone want a smooch?

Evidently in seven short months my beloved beagle Blossom doesn't need me anymore! Yesterday Skip opened up the door to the Ford Escape Hybrid to take her to doggie day care and she jumped into her seat all by herself! Sigh, I remember when she couldn't even get up/down the stairs on her own!

It sucks that you can't do hyperlinks for Blogger on Safari.

I feel like an old man when I listen to it, but I love the song Too Little, Too Late by JoJo. It's on now.

Tired

I'm here in NYC for another month! Yay but I am sooooooo tired. Work til 6:30 or 7 then go to dinner with the group is pretty much my daily routine. How's a guy supposed to find time to play Lord of the Rings Online?

Obsessed Much?

Remember my last post where He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named-And-Isn't-A-Harry-Potter-Character was in front of me at LaGuardia? You wouldn't believe how many nasty comments I got from his deranged and deluded fans. How do these people find this blog? Stay away! I made this blog for my friends and family and I'll say whatever the hell I want. I'm not a news source, nothing I say should be taken seriously. I also won't publish such mean, hateful comments. And shame on the world for still thinking that calling someone gay is this horrible horrible thing that must be defended at all costs.

Although HWSNBNAIAHPC has some serious gay going on. The poofy multicolored layered hair? Check. The gay color-coordinated clothes that would look right at home on Perez Hilton? Check. The boofy poofy dog that looked blowdried to within an inch of it's death? Check? The girl "friend" that no one in their right mind would think was his girlfriend if you saw them spend a little time together? Check. Go away with your deluded selves, my gaydar is in fine working order, thank you very much.
